The benefits of Sunglasses and Eyeglasses ALL In One PAIR

Prescription sunglasses

Are you tired of dealing with contacts lenses or clip-on sun lenses? Then it may be time to try out some new prescription sunglasses

If you are a contact lens wearer, did you know that your normal non-prescription sunglasses may not be providing your eyes adequate protection against the sun? And if you usually wear clip-ons, have you ever misplaced or broken your lenses, only to be left blinded by the sun without them?

Advantages of Prescription Sunglasses

Prescription sunglasses are a great option for anyone who is interested in receiving excellent optics, as well as all-day UV protection. Not only are they practical and affordable, but they are also extremely convenient to have on hand.

Just imagine these scenarios...

1) enjoying a day on the beach without irritating your contacts with sand or seawater.
2) enjoying a relaxing drive by taking off your usual specs and slipping on a pair of sleek sunglasses that give you the same great vision as your prescription lenses.
3) being able to play your favorite outdoor sports without worrying about your clip-on lenses falling off or breaking.

Choosing Prescription Sunglasses

Already have a favorite pair of sunglasses in mind? No matter the brand or model, virtually any pair of sunglasses can be fitted with prescription lenses. In addition, prescription sunglasses can be matched with any lens prescription, including bifocal and progressive lenses for presbyopia conditions. They are also very useful for outdoor reading if you normally wear reading glasses.

Prescription sunglasses can be made with a wide variety of lens materials, including high-index, polycarbonate, CR-39 plastic, Trivex and even glass lenses. Although glass lenses provide the best optics, they tend to be heavier and are more fragile than plastic lenses.

When selecting prescription lenses for your sun wear, you may also want to consider adding a photochromic tint or color-matching your lenses. A photochromic tint will give your lenses a transition effect, which means they will automatically adjust to changing light conditions (ie. darken in the sun and become lighter indoors). The transition effect of photochromic lenses is only activated when in direct contact with the sun’s UV rays, which means they do not darken inside cars because windshields and windows block a significant portion of UV radiation.

To color-match your lenses, an optician will try to match your prescription sunglasses lenses to the original lens color. In fact, UV protection is completely unrelated to the tint or density of the color in sunglasses lenses, so as long as your optician confirms that your lenses have 100% UV-protection, you can choose any lens color you like!

At Smart Buy Glasses we offer a huge range of prescription sunglasses, including perennial favourites like the Ray-Ban Justin, the Ray-Ban Wayfarer and Ray-Ban Clubmaster with all of the prescription lens option described above.
